Jane Gabrielle McCadden

Certified Singing Tree Mural Facilitator

Jane is a writer, songwriter and visual and performing artist. Her work inspects the intersectionality of inward-focused creative practice, informed by ancestry and spirituality, and outer-focused visionary activism in stewardship of the Earth.

Jane Gabrielle studied illustration at Virginia Commonwealth University, sculpture at University of Alabama-Birmingham and graduated Goddard College 2022 with a BFA in Socially-Engaged Art. She holds a certificate in Embodied Social Justice from The Embody Lab.


Community Partners:  Artist-in-Residence Gun Violence Prevention Commission, Mill Mountain Zoo & Clean Valley Council (creation of 3 large sculptures), Global Catholic Climate Movement (grant for “Help Wanted, signed Mother Earth” campaign), Dr. Pepper Music Park (sculpture), Virginia Interfaith Power & Light (curated outdoor Eco-Chapel), Friends of Evans Spring-Artist-in-Residence, Kiwanis Club (illustrations for children’s book on the endangered Roanoke logperch), HeartApples for Homeless Students, Soul Box Project-Roanoke, The Empathy Project-Roanoke City Youth & Gang Violence Task Force.
