How in the World

This mural was facilitated by Laurie Marshall.

"In 1990, I was an Artist-in-Residence for the Fauquier County (VA) Junior High Schools through the Department of Parks and Recreation. Working with geography classes, students researched problems and solutions in the various regions of the world they were studying. This information was passed along to the art students who created images on a portable 8' by 16' mural, each junior high taking one 8' x 4' section to work on. One school then put them all together. The mural was exhibited at National Geogrphic Explorer's Hall, a nursing home, a prison, other school districts and the Children's Museum of Washington, D.C. It currently resides in the library of Warrenton Junior High iin Warrenton."
