5th graders painted the second floor of Helen S Faison Elementary School in Pittsburgh, PA in 2006. The students painted the street across from the school, which had numerous abandoned buildings. They depicted the street as they dreamed it could be, with flowers, birds and colorful buildings. Above the buildings is a mandala where the students painted what they cared about, showering their neighborhood with care.
